Psychotherapeutic Services

During my 20 years of practice as an integrated health practitioner I have had the

privilege of learning from some remarkable teachers but what I learned most was

from my clients. Mostly, I have learned that every individual wants to be heard and

treated with genuine compassion and wisdom. My approach to therapy is to restore

the whole person to a state of balance. I view the three energetic bodies of health

(physical, emotional and spiritual) as indivisible and interconnected. The vitality

of a person depends on the ongoing process of a healthy lifestyle and the organic

relationship of body, mind and spirit.

As a psychotherapist, I am committed to authentic, honest and compassionate support through your journey toward self-realization by empowering you to increase your awareness, work with and overcome internal and external obstacles, discover your innate gifts, and express them to the world. My interventions integrate methods that have been proven and empirically validated. My approach involves and integrative perspective which enhances the efficacy and applicability of psychotherapy. A combination of specific theories, techniques, and methods are selected for the individual and/or the problem. The basic philosophies that I draw from are primarily Existential, Person-Centered,  Gestalt, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Family Systems. Therapeutic solutions may include the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, body-centered psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness meditation, guided imagery and art/play therapy.

I specialize in Addictive Behaviors including alcohol and other drugs as well as process addictions such as gambling, compulsive eating, sex addiction, and emotional dependencies.

My services are not limited to addictions, I can also help you with:

~ Trauma & Post-traumatic Stress

~ Family and Relationship Issues

~ Sex Education and Sexual Issues

~ Body-Mind Nutrition counseling

~ Transitional Living

~ Problem Solving and Decision Making

~ Divorce Counseling

~ Parenting Struggles

~ Gender / Sexual Orientation Issues

~ Chronic Pain & Illness

It is of the utmost importance for me to provide a safe and trusting therapeutic

relationship by forming a respectful, non-hierarchical, team-based connection with

my clients.

“Nobody, as long as he moves about the chaotic currents of life, is without trouble”

                                                                        --- Carl Jung

Therapy is not about the broken, the ill, or the defiant.  Every person has difficulties or challenges at some time in their life. Therapy is about finding the strengths within ourselves that promote growth and joy in all aspects of our lives.
